This qualification is intended to align with the following occupational licensing outcomes:

    • Security Officer – Unarmed guard
    • Security Officer – Crowd Controller

Physical requirements:

There are physical requirements in performing the duties of a Security Guard. You will need to have the ability to deal with various security threats and challenges, and perform physical tasks on a daily basis. These may include the need to eject a person from a premise, perform first aid, maintain good vision for sharp observations, the ability to move quickly, stamina to work on your feet for long periods. Physical fitness is therefore a requirement for this job role.

It provides a pathway to further learning and work in various security roles and settings including, but not limited to:

    • Armed Guarding
    • Cash-in-transit
    • Close Protection

Security officers may work alone or work in a team environment under general supervision, operating with limited autonomy and judgement to complete routine but variable tasks, with some accountability and responsibility for their own outputs, work, and learning.
